Just learned tonight of Steve's passing. He was a great man and a great mentor to so many individuals. He was given a rough life, but always had a smile on his face even when life was not fair. He had a great impact on my students when we both worked at the PVA. He was often not appreciated and was always striving to represent the whole disabled community. His suffering is now over. What a loss!! I will keep him and your family in my prayers. Monday, March 13, 2017 |

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a huge inspiration to me and others that use wheelchairs. Steve helped me get sled hockey going in Nebraska. He traveled with me to DC to compete in the Marine Corp Marathon for the first time in my handcycle. And he helped many Veterans while he worked at the Great Plains Paralyzed Veterans of America office. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. Love you my friend. I am so deeply sorry to hear of Steve's passing, it is quite unthinkable for such a young and active guy. He has done so much for youth in wheelchairs over the years, once even training my son to be a stronger young man. He will be missed.
My deepest sympathies.
