Marie Galda, 95

Marie passed away November 18, 2018 after a life well lived with joy, humor, and intellectual curiosity and guided by her strong Christian faith. She was born May 14, 1923 to Czech immigrants Jaroslav and Anna (Skvor) Galda. She graduated from Omaha South High in 1940 and Municipal University of Omaha in 1944. Marie was an active member of the Bohemian Brethren Presbyterian Church for many years, where she taught Sunday School and served as Sunday School Superintendent and clerk of Session. A chemist, she worked in product development and quality control at the Cudahy Packing Co. Laboratory from 1944 to 1965. From 1965 until retiring in 1984 she worked as a chemical analyst, nuclear technician, and data processor in the Metabolic Research Unit of Creighton Medical School. Marie was a founding member of the Bloomfield Forum community.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister (brother-in-law), Helen (Timothy) Jasa.

Survivors include her nephews Tim Jasa (Sally), Lyons; Paul Jasa (Lisa), Lincoln; Chris Jasa (Brenda), Bradshaw; and Doug Jasa (Julie Orwick), Liberty, MO; grandniece Katie Styrt (Philip), Davenport, IA; grandnephews, Jeffrey Jasa, Kansas City; Aaron Jasa (Michele Fiesta), San Francisco; John Jasa (Kate Weskamp), Ann Arbor, MI; and relatives in the Czech Republic.
