"LIFE IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION."

Zachary Albert Laier, age 28, was born January 8, 1992 in Simi Valley, California to his loving parents, Vicky and Gary Laier. Three years later, he became an older brother to his sister, Elora. As a family, they loved to camp, spend time together, and travel. Throughout the years, he grew a passion for weather and natural disasters, making his playtime fun but destructive and encouraging him to develop skills that he used to create beautiful artwork. Zachary found love and life in God and his youth church, giving back in the form of mission trips and teaching vacation bible school, traveling the western half of the United States with his father competing in the sport of NHRA Drag Racing, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and developing into the sweet, loving, and humble young man he was with the help of his strong, loving, and large family unit. To continue his passion and obsession with the weather, Zachary moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2010 to attend the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and obtain his degree in Meteorology. During this time, he built friendships and family connections that established another piece of his life in Nebraska. As fate had it, his move introduced him to his partner, Jack Blair, his first, last, and only love. Zachary’s goal in life was to become a father, a husband, and a loving support to those around him. Zachary died surrounded by many of the loving, positive relationships he built throughout his life. Zachary will forever be remembered as a son, a brother, partner, friend, dog dad, weather expert, and so much more. He believed that life is a journey, not a destination. Zachary’s home will remain in the hearts of those who love him, and his journey will continue as an angel above.
