December 15, 1933 -  January 19, 2021

William Bryan Salstrom, 87

William "Bryan" Salstrom was born December 15, 1933 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Albert and Agnes Salstrom, the ninth of 10 children. Bryan attended school in Scottsbluff. After attending North Park College in Chicago, then Scottsbluff College, he attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas on an academic scholarship. He left college one semester before graduating when his father passed away, returning to Scottsbluff. He went to work for Platte Valley Plumbing and Heating which he later purchased and operated until the late 1980s.

Bryan married Suzanne Bott on January 22, 1960. Together they had two children, Carey Dube (Peter) and Steve (Kay Jennings). Bryan enjoyed serving as a Scottsbluff City Councilman and was involved in the 23 Club, a youth baseball program in Scottsbluff. After leaving Scottsbluff, he moved to Gillette, Wyoming, with his wife and worked for the Sheesley Construction Company. After their divorce, Bryan moved to Denver where he owned and operated a business. Late in his life, Bryan moved to Omaha to be near his sister and her husband, Shirley and Dick Carter.

Bryan was preceded in death by his daughter, Carey Dube.

He is survived by his son, Steve Salstrom in St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Jessica Dube of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Joshua Dube of Olympia, Washington; and sisters Ruby Schumacher in Littleton, Colorado, and Shirley Carter in Omaha, Nebraska.

Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest near his family in Scottsbluff at a later date.
