Dear Cherek Family -- Teresa and I were so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Cherek (Joe)!! He was a remarkable man and will be ...along with all of you... in our thoughts and prayers!! A side note -- Joe and his Cherek's Husky meant a lot to my family when I was growing up on 23rd and Bancroft. He kept my dad's clunkers "affordably running" long after many of those cars should have been retired to a junk yard. He meant the world to the neighborhood! The world lost a remarkable man...GOD BLESS HIS SOUL!

I never had the pleasure of getting to know Joe, but knowing his kids and grandkids is evidence the world lost a great man. My family will never forget the graciousness and kindness Joe showed us when he owned the Husky station. I'm sure there's more stories like that coming from Joe's legacy, but he never seemed to be self promoting or a big shot. Our prayers and friendship are for his family, and those missing his presence on this planet. God Bless you Joe!
