I am sorry to hear of Joe's death. My husband was Larry Hanson, an engineer at Union Pacific. He and Joe worked together, not sure if they hired out at about the same time (1952). He always enjoyed working and spending time with Joe. He was always joking around, and made the guys laugh. I think we attended some of the Jr. Old Timer events also. Larry passed away from Cancer in l999. There aren't many of the "old heads" left, and the railroad has changed so much since they worked there. But it provided a good life for the families. My thoughts are with you.....you've lost a really nice man, a father and grandfather. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 |
