Ruth thoroughly enjoyed her married and family life and her home. She played piano and knitted sweaters and was involved in PTA, Cub Scouts, and Campfire Girls.

After years of staying home, Ruth re-entered the workforce as a federal employee for 25 years. She was always proud of that.

In her later years she traveled most of Western Europe including the Canary Islands.

In her own words: "I would say I've had a wonderful life - may my children and friends remember me with happy thoughts"
