Carol J. "Brownie" Dorsch, 87


Carol J. Dorsch, 87, passed away surrounded by family on June 1st, 2025, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on May 5th, 1938, in Lewis, Iowa to George and Burnidette Brown (Doty). She was one of ten children. She married Robert E. Dorsch in February of 1962.

Carol grew up in the Children's Square orphanage in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She went on to be a Labtech at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. From there she met her husband-to-be Robert Dorsch, "Bob the Barber", and they started to build their family. They lived in Council Bluffs before they moved to Omaha, to be closer to the barber shop that Bob owned on Sunshine Drive. During their life, Carol worked a few places, but her primary job was raising their four children, Jeff, Suzanne, Eric, and Stephanie. They gave her four beautiful grandchildren and many fur grandpuppies.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob"; and grandson, Jacob Dorsch.

Survived by sons, Jeff and Eric Dorsch; daughters, Suzanne Dorsch and Stephanie (Benjamin) Waszgis; three grandchildren, Weston and Madison Carlisle, and Dawson Waszgis; and many nieces and nephews.
