Kevin L. Brown, age 52, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025. He was born on May 17, 1973, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Jeanette B. Guillette and the late Eddie L. Atkins. Kevin spent his early childhood in both Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Omaha, Nebraska, where he was educated through the public-school systems. He graduated from Bellevue West High School in 1991, where his vibrant personality and lively spirit left a lasting impression. During his high school years, Kevin received several acknowledgments, including Best Dressed and Office Assistant, and proudly won seven lip sync contests showcasing his flair for performance and entertainment. Kevin’s professional journey included roles at Cox Communications, Professional Leasing Inc., First National Bank of Omaha, and Millard Public Schools, where he worked with dedication and pride until his passing. A man of many passions and talents, Kevin deeply loved music, singing, dancing, roller skating, and competing in talent shows. His energy and creativity lit up every room he entered, and his performances brought joy to all who watched. Above all, Kevin loved and cherished his family and friends, always showing up with kindness, laughter, and love. Kevin was a member of Second Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie L. Atkins; grandparents, Lindsey and Dora M. Brown of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Edward and Effie Atkins of Benton Harbor, Michigan; and stepfathers, Donnie M. Comer of Union, South Carolina, and Edgar R. Guillette of Silver Spring, Maryland. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved children, Maddison N. Marshall, Kaden D. Brown, and Kobe O. Brown; his loving mother, Jeanette B. Guillette of Silver Spring, Maryland; his sister, LaTasha (Marcus) Atchison of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; his brother, Germaine Raines of Benton Harbor, Michigan; his partner, Stephanie Jarecki; and his special nephew, Jaylan J.M. Butler. Kevin is also survived by his loving grandparents, Mary Gist, Reverend Alvin P. McCruel, and Emma McCruel; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his special aunt, Mable Moncrief; along with many dear relatives, extended family, and lifelong friends. Kevin’s light, laughter, and legacy will remain with us always. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the joy he brought into the world. "To know him was to love him."
