Janet K. Gates, 73

Janet (Janni) Gates, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Janni was a beloved mother, cherished friend, and bedrock of support.

Born on January 24, 2951, in Schuyler, NE to Thelma and David Harris, Janni brought boundless joy into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A beacon of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love, she dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a home filled with laughter and love.

Janni was a devoted mother to all and was always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she consistently put others' needs before her own. Her selflessness and resilience were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of sharing their lives with her.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Mike Gates, sons Scott (Missy) Gates, Danny (Alicia) Gates, her brothers, Jack and Tom Harris, grandchildren, Maddy, Mitch, and Memphis Gates, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward her spirit of love, compassion, and strength.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Janni Gates will be held on Saturday, February 10th at Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home. Visitation at 9 am, followed by a brief service at 10 am
