Marie  A.  Trawicki

Marie A. Trawicki, 97, passed away Saturday, September 7th, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Marie’s parents were immigrants who settled in the Brown Park area of South Omaha. Marie was born in their house and lived there for over 80 years. She was the fifth of six children in the Czech household where they maintained the “old school” traditions.

Marie attended Assumption grade school and graduated from South High in 1939. She married in June 1942 and moved to Alexandria, Virginia with Paul where he was stationed during WWII with the Coast Guard. After the war she worked as a secretary for several businesses including Nebraska Furniture Mart, Red Ball Transfer, and several legal firms. She was active in Church functions and much enjoyed time and activities with family members.

Preceded in death by husband Paul Sr.; parents Hugo and Marie (Hazuka) Briza; brothers Frank, Charles, Hugo and William; and sister Frances Sopinski.

Survived by sons Paul Jr. (Nancy) and Joseph (Catherine); grandchildren Jill (Jeremiah) Gregg, Jean Marie, Joseph Jr. (Denise), and Maryann (Tre) Grace; great grandchildren Abigail, Elijah, and Hannah Gregg, Trey and Mara Jade Trawicki, Caden and Cameron Grace; nieces, nephews and other relatives.


A luncheon will follow at 12:00 pm at the Bellevue Volunteer Firefighter Hall, 2108 Franklin St. in Bellevue.
