April 28, 1936 -  March 10, 2024

Alicia Yuvienco Lorenzo, 87

Alicia Lorenzo, age 87, died peacefully on March 10, 2024, with her loving family at her side. She was a beautiful, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
A longtime resident of Omaha, Nebraska, Alicia was born in Manila, Philippines on April 28, 1936. In 1959, she graduated with a BSN from the University of the Philippines and married her beloved Agapito Lorenzo. She emigrated to the US in 1960, where she joined her husband and worked as a nurse. During this time, they lived in New York City, Albany, New York, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Together they had 3 children, Donna, and Nicholas in Albany, and Consuelo in Montreal. The family moved to Omaha in 1968 where Agapito enjoyed a long career as a neurologist, and she later returned to nursing at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Alicia was an active parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where she participated in the Ladies Guild and many other volunteer activities over the years. She was very proud of her children, all of whom graduated from medical school.
In addition to her husband and children, her greatest joy was her 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She frequently hosted family dinners at her home which were highlighted by her expert preparation of classic Filipino cuisine. She loved traveling, not only in the United States, but
also, internationally with trips to Europe and Asia, highlighted by a trip to the Holy Land in 2013. She and Pete were avid Husker football fans and attended many games as season ticket holders, including 4 national championship games.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Consuelo Yuvienco; and her brother Jose Yuvienco
Left to treasure her memory are her husband of 64 years, Agapito; her children Donna (Joel), Nicholas (Anne), and Connie (Geoff); 11 grandchildren, Adam, Brett (Sarah), Alexa, Gabrielle, Katelyn (Virgilio), Davis (Arianna), Jackson, Brian, Marcus, Anthony, and Sophia; 3 great grandchildren, Lucy, Eleanor, and Max; sisters Paulita (Fiorello), Myrna (Nilo), and Celia; brothers Jaime (Emily), and Jorge; and many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family.
